China Telecom, NSN Implement FDD-TDD Convergence
September 05, 2014

China Telecom and NSN (Nokia Solutions and Networks) announced the world's first FDD-TDD carrier aggregation, reaching peak download speed of 260 Mbps with FDD (Frequency Division Duplexing) 20 MHz in 1.8 GHz and TDD (Time Division Duplexing) 20 MHz in 2.6 GHz spectrum, reported China Electronic News on September 5. The demonstration showed interoperability between Nokia's LTE (Long Term Evolution) base station and Marvell's commercial user chipset, marking a milestone toward commercial adoption of the carrier aggregation to improve the speed and coverage of an LTE network.
